Author Guidelines

Journal of Disaster Mitigation Research (JDMR)

  1. General Information
    The Journal of Disaster Mitigation Research (JDMR) publishes original research articles, review articles, and case studies related to disaster mitigation, disaster risk reduction, resilience, climate adaptation, and post-disaster recovery.
    All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  1. Manuscript Types
    JDMR accepts the following types of manuscripts:
    1. Original Research Articles
    2. Review Articles
    3. Case Studies
  1. Language
    Manuscripts may be written in English using clear and academic language.
  1. Manuscript Format
    • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
    • Page size: A4
    • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
    • Line spacing: 1.5
    • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
    • Length: 5,000–8,000 words (including references)
  1. Manuscript Structure
    Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
    1. Title
    2. Author(s) name and affiliation
    3. Abstract (150–250 words)
    4. Keywords (3–5 keywords)
    5. Introduction
    6. Methods
    7. Results and Discussion
    8. Conclusion
    9. Acknowledgments (if any)
    10. References
  1. Citation and References
    • All citations and references must follow a consistent academic referencing style.
    • Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of references.
  1. Peer Review Process
    All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors’ and reviewers’ identities will remain confidential throughout the review process.
  1. Plagiarism Policy
    Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. JDMR will screen all submissions using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism will be rejected.
  1. Publication Ethics
    Authors must comply with ethical standards in research and publication. Research involving human subjects or communities must adhere to ethical principles and obtain necessary approvals.
  1. Open Access and License (CC BY–NC)
    All articles published in JDMR are open access and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.

    This license allows users to read, download, copy, distribute, and adapt the published work for non-commercial purposes only, provided that proper credit is given to the original author(s) and the journal.
    Commercial use of published materials is not permitted without prior written permission from the copyright holder.

    Authors retain the copyright of their published work and grant JDMR the right of first publication.
  1. Article Processing Charges
    The Journal of Disaster Mitigation Research (JDMR) does not charge any submission or publication fees, unless otherwise stated.
