Abstract

The tree planting policy for prospective brides and grooms is one of the environmental conservation efforts implemented in several regions in Indonesia. This policy aims to increase green cover, reduce carbon emissions, and instill public awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability. By requiring prospective brides and grooms to plant trees before getting married, this policy is expected to have a long-term impact on climate change mitigation and natural resource conservation. This study uses a literature study method to analyze the effectiveness, benefits, and challenges in implementing this policy. The results of the analysis show that this program has a positive impact on reducing the risk of natural disasters, maintaining ecosystem balance, and increasing environmental awareness. However, challenges such as minimal supervision, limited land, and lack of public understanding of the benefits of this policy are still major obstacles. In conclusion, the tree planting policy for prospective brides and grooms is an effective community-based strategy in supporting sustainable natural resource management. With strengthened regulations, increased education, and support from various parties, this policy can have a broader impact on the environment and society
