The research design used descriptive research with a sample of 38 prospective teacher students from PGMI State Islamic University of Mataram. Data was obtained from response questionnaires with 3 indicators, namely happy, easy to understand and useful. As a result, the response of prospective teacher students to Kaffah learning is very good and has a positive impact on them. Kaffah learning integrates religion, science, application and meaningfulness from a single concept. This learning is expected to contribute to the development of the ability of prospective teacher students in planning, implementing and evaluating learning.
Syahrial Ayub, Joni Rokhmat, Agus Ramdani, Aliefman Hakim, AA Sukarso, Endang P Handayani Copyright (c) 2023 International Journal of Contextual Science Education https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/523 Sat, 06 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Improving Students' Numerical Literacy Through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in Pascal Programming Course https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/549
Numerical literacy, the ability to interpret and apply numerical data, is crucial for success in various fields, including computer science. Traditionally, Pascal programming courses rely on passive learning methods, hindering students' development of numeracy skills. This study investigated the effectiveness of project-based learning (PjBL) in improving numeracy literacy among 46 Physics Education students enrolled in a Pascal programming course at Mataram University in Indonesia. The PjBL approach involved real-world projects requiring students to apply and analyze numerical data within their programming tasks. Findings revealed significant improvements in numeracy literacy, with success rates of 97% for short analysis, 87% for medium analysis, and 46% for long analysis. Overall, the average learning outcome was 84 out of 100, demonstrating the potential of PjBL as an effective learning model for enhancing numeracy skills in programming contexts. Further research is encouraged to refine PjBL implementation models and optimize its impact on numeracy literacy in STEM education.
Muhammad Taufik, Joni Rokhmat, Muhammad Zuhdi Copyright (c) 2023 International Journal of Contextual Science Education https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/549 Sat, 06 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Research Trend of Local Wisdom Issues Based on Scopus Journal Database: A Bibliometric Study https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/551
This bibliometric study delves into the multifaceted dimensions of local wisdom research based on an exhaustive analysis of scholarly publications indexed in the Scopus Journal Database. Focused on the intersection of local wisdom with education and learning, the study employs a comprehensive methodology encompassing data collection, bibliometric analysis, visualization techniques, geographical analysis, and quality assurance measures. The findings, derived from the systematic examination of 4,268 documents spanning nearly a century, reveal the evolution, contributors, and global patterns within the field. Notably, the analysis of 45 selected journal articles provides a nuanced understanding of the diverse applications of local wisdom, ranging from teacher responsibility and multicultural harmony to conservation management and innovative learning models. The robust citation counts of key studies underscore the substantial impact of local wisdom in shaping educational practices and fostering holistic development. Geographically, Indonesia emerges as a central hub of local wisdom research, with Indonesian researchers playing a pivotal role and actively engaging in international collaborations. In conclusion, this comprehensive overview not only contributes valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on local wisdom but also provides a foundation for future research endeavors, emphasizing the critical role of local wisdom in addressing global challenges and fostering sustainable solutions, particularly in the realm of education.
Ni Nyoman Sri Putu Verawati, Agus Ramdani Copyright (c) 2023 International Journal of Contextual Science Education https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/551 Sat, 06 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Validating Test of Science-Related Attitudes (TOSRA) For Elementary Students In Mataram, Indonesia https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/553
The Test of Science-Related Attitudes (TOSRA) was initially developed in Australia by Barry J. Fraser in 1977 for high school students. This research aims to modify and validate the TOSRA used for 5th-grade elementary school students in Mataram, Indonesia. A survey model with a Likert scale questionnaire was used in the research and a purposive sampling strategy was used to recruit 318 students from 3 different elementary schools in Mataram. There were 4 of 7 indicators of TOSRA used in this research: attitude to scientific inquiry, adoption of scientific attitudes, enjoyment of science lessons, and leisure interest in science. From each indicator, 5 of the 10 statements on TOSRA are taken, so a total of 20 statements were presented in the questionnaire. Each item of the question was analyzed for its validity and reliability overall. The results showed that all question items are valid and reliable so this modified TOSRA can measure the science-related attitudes of 5th-grade elementary school students in Mataram, Indonesia.
Rindu Rahmatiah, Joni Rokhmat, A. One of the efforts recommended by experts to achieve this is through the application of project-based learning. Various forms of blending are implemented using project-based learning. One form of method in project-based learning is the practicum method. This literature review aims to describe various forms of project-based learning as well as the development of practical guide modules and their relationship to several practical activities that lead to the chemical identification of natural medicinal plant ingredients. The various results of this research will give birth to alternative project-based learning by developing practical guide modules that can strengthen students' understanding of high-level thinking skills related to the classification of living things, especially plants, as well as science process skills and scientific attitudes.
Bakhtiar Ardiansyah, Agus Ramdani, Aliefman Hakim, Muh Makhrus Copyright (c) 2023 International Journal of Contextual Science Education https://jurnalpasca.unram.ac.id/index.php/ijcse/article/view/552 Sat, 06 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0800
